So I went to my VERY first Yaoi-con this year!  I had the most fun I have ever had...  EVER!  @[email protected] I had a great time meeting the two guests they had, and there were partially dressed men/boys every evening and raffles!  @[email protected]  So much fun!  So I wasn't having any luck with the raffles which was sad...  However I was a VIP and we had a contest that was only for the VIPs...  Smaller pool and all!  ^_^

So it was announced at the closing ceremonies!  And I actually won a print that was very lovely, but as I was hobbling around on crutches and would have had to fly this giant framed print home I was sad...  So Cutiebunny was like find one of the shikishi winners and see if they will trade with you!  You aren't going to be able to get that home intact!  I'm like okies!  So one of the ladies had won two shikishi, I of course tried to get the Tateno one, cause I'd been reading her stuff for a really LONG time, and am a HUGE fan!  However sadly she was unwilling...  However, she also won this very pretty shikishi by Aya Isino!  ^_^

So an interesting thing about this piece is the art is from a short series that was never localized over here called Tsubaki Biyori and the second book Tsubaki Dayori!  The character is Tsubaki Tarou, who a bit of an oddball is very femmy and knits and crafts things for a living, he runs into an old highschool friend and his daughter and the girl mistakingly mistakes him for a pretty 'lady' and so it goes.  Her style is quiet, understated, and not the hardcore stuff which I also like, but this sweet story is lovely and you find most of the Shonen-ai here in the quiet places.  Isino Aya has however been localized over here, DMG has her two books, Sink Into You and Weekend of Dreams, available digitally.
