The Scene: Fiore has captured Sailor Moon, and has basically crucified her, and sending painful energy bursts through her body, each scout is down, and getting up slowly while Fiore chastises Sailor Moon, each sentence triggering a memory in each Senshi's past where they felt the same way. This is what Fiore says as Jupiter is getting up after reliving a terrible memory of being ostracized.

"You've never felt that it was unfortunate that you were even born..."

"What would you know?"

Why?: It is well known that I collect nice Jupiter cels, it is also very rare for her to come up, and so when Luna-art had decided to pull this piece from her personal collection and put it up for sale I was waffling because I've adored this piece for a very long time now and had coveted it from afar. Then she put it on eBay for more than she had it listed on her site, and I was like meh... and then a few weeks later she bumped the price down to slightly less than what she had on her site, so I was like sold! Granted this happened like the week before Otakon, and just before the BWA had posted it's auctions of doom. But after watching the scene over while I was doing the research to put this together it is well worth the money.

I'm sure this has been documented before, I have dealt with depression for a long time, I have control of it sometimes, other times I do not. So when this line came up, and it was attached to this cel, it was like a punch to the gut. Because I have felt this way before, and I have used a multitude of different skills to cope, although I have always been more of a baker than a fighter... ^_^;; And in one of the later scenes it is the cooking that brings her and Usagi together as friends, very apropos.

So to make a longish story short this piece has a lot of meaning for me and I am super pumped to add it to my collection.

About the Cel: I don't have a lot of movie cels, but the two I do have are oversized which is nice as it makes for a larger and more detailed image. Line fading is typical for a cel of this age, and the matching Douga did come with click on the image for a better idea on the detail! So pretty! I am planning on doing BGs one day for the Cels I have but at the rate it is going it will be 2050 before I get the Sailor Moon BGs done alone, although this one looks pretty simple as it is mostly black with some pretty blue/purple in the bg. Very moody piece overall.
